Joe’s first game was the representative Gredos Ibex. Shortly after sighting the gun at 200 yards in the Gredos Mountain Range we spotted a numerous herd of Ibex about 400 yards away. With a powerful, cold wind blowing at about five-thousand feet we were lucky to spot two rams separated from the herd, feeding on a lower altitude. We began the stalk, at the beginning continuing with animal paths and then jumping up giant granite boulders.Read more

Because this is what free range mountain hunting is. And when you come to Spain to hunt for the Spanish Ibex Grand Slam you are to expect all this, besides all the added value that Spain itself gives to your trip: a place of culture, historical heritage and an enviable cuisine.Read more
April is the best month of the year to hunt Beceite Ibex and Roe deer in Spain. The hunting season of the Beceite Ibex begins in November and it lasts until the end of May, but the hunting season for the Roe deer begins at the beginning of April until the end of September. As we already mentioned in one of our articles dedicated exclusively to the hunt of the Roe deer, the animal is not easy to hunt because they are very skittish. The only time of the year they are more vulnerable is during the last 2 weeks of April and the first week in May as they feed outside of the forest in the terraces where the new grains begin to sprout in Spring.Read more
As we have already been announcing, December is synonym of “rut season” for the 4 species of the Spanish Ibex Grand Slam; so together with our December hunters we geared up our camera as December is when the Spanish Ibex are visible and in full sight all over the mountain.
An experienced hunter knows that in order to have a successful hunt you need 3 things: good weather, a good hunting area, and a good aim. We can´t control the first thing, but we do provide the best hunting areas and the third is on you.Read more

Normally before a hunter and his observers come to Spain we have already settled the general itinerary with them. But if you have ever been on a hunting trip you know that hunting is not a precise science and we depend totally on the weather conditions: precipitations, temperature, wind, fog etc. On the other hand we also depend on the “mood” of the animals. Sometimes they are not where they usually hang out and sometimes you bump into them in the least expected areas. Because, you already know: “That´s hunting!”
Lance and his wife hunted in Spain with us during 7 days and during this week we have lived many different experiences and learned a lot about the Spanish tradition, culture and cuisine.Read more
We are often asked about the CIC and SCI scoring systems for the Spanish ibex and more than once we realize that there is not enough info provided on them, and more importantly, this information is not in the same place.
Every time a hunter or huntress plans a hunting trip to Spain for the Spanish Ibex, at one particular moment they will be asked if they want to hunt a representative animal or they want to harvest a medal class Spanish Ibex. And according to the scoring of the animal, this person will have to pay the extra points of their animals.
This article will explain the scoring systems and measurements for the 4 different species of the Spanish ibex.
We are visual people and today more than ever we are used to see everything before we arrive to any places.
