The chamois, Rupicapra rupicapra is a species of goat-antelope native to mountains in Europe, including the European Alps, the Pyrenees, the Carpathians, the Tatra Mountains, the Balkans, parts of Turkey, the Caucasus, and the Apennines. April is the best month of the year to hunt Beceite Ibex and Roe deer in Spain. The hunting season of the Beceite Ibex begins in November and it lasts until the end of May, but the hunting season for the Roe deer begins at the beginning of April until the end of September. As we already mentioned in one of our articles dedicated exclusively to the hunt of the Roe deer, the animal is not easy to hunt because they are very skittish. The only time of the year they are more vulnerable is during the last 2 weeks of April and the first week in May as they feed outside of the forest in the terraces where the new grains begin to sprout in Spring.Read more

The other important aspect for a successful hunt is shooting properly. Gun preparation is your most important homework before you come hunting in Spain.
The shooting moment is the decisive moment. Everything else is important, but the shot is crucial, decisive. Shooting well is the main key to a successful hunt. For this reason we have put together a few training ideas that can help you get ready for your hunting trip to Spain.
We are often asked about the CIC and SCI scoring systems for the Spanish ibex and more than once we realize that there is not enough info provided on them, and more importantly, this information is not in the same place.
Every time a hunter or huntress plans a hunting trip to Spain for the Spanish Ibex, at one particular moment they will be asked if they want to hunt a representative animal or they want to harvest a medal class Spanish Ibex. And according to the scoring of the animal, this person will have to pay the extra points of their animals.
