Joe’s first game was the representative Gredos Ibex. Shortly after sighting the gun at 200 yards in the Gredos Mountain Range we spotted a numerous herd of Ibex about 400 yards away. With a powerful, cold wind blowing at about five-thousand feet we were lucky to spot two rams separated from the herd, feeding on a lower altitude. We began the stalk, at the beginning continuing with animal paths and then jumping up giant granite boulders.Read more

As we already mentioned in one of our articles dedicated exclusively to the hunt of the Roe deer, the animal is not easy to hunt because they are very skittish. The only time of the year they are more vulnerable is during the last 2 weeks of April and the first week in May as they feed outside of the forest in the terraces where the new grains begin to sprout in Spring.Read more

If you are familiar to European hunting and you have visited the trophy room of some European hunters you have definitely seen that the Roe buck is found in most on most of the European trophy walls. This article is going to talk about this precious and elegant trophy and about the best methods of hunting the European Roe deer in Spain.
The peculiarities of the European Roe deer
The European Roe deer, also know as the Roe Buck is relatively small compared to the other types of deer in Europe, like Red deer (Red Stag) or Fallow deer. But the Roe deer is different not only because of its size but also because of his peculiarities. Starting with the rut season, a male roe deer will only follow one doe during the rut season. Skittish, small and very attentive to his surroundings, the roe deer always follows the same habits: he feeds in the same places, at the same time every day. They start growing their antlers immediately after shedding them and…Read more
Get your rifle ready for Hunting trip in Spain
A few months ago we have published a gear list that all of our clients thought it was very complete and helpful. But having the right equipment with you is only one part of a successful hunt. The other important aspect for a successful hunt is shooting properly. Gun preparation is your most important homework before you come hunting in Spain.
The shooting moment is the decisive moment. Everything else is important, but the shot is crucial, decisive. Shooting well is the main key to a successful hunt. For this reason we have put together a few training ideas that can help you get ready for your hunting trip to Spain.
Normally before a hunter and his observers come to Spain we have already settled the general itinerary with them. But if you have ever been on a hunting trip you know that hunting is not a precise science and we depend totally on the weather conditions: precipitations, temperature, wind, fog etc. On the other hand we also depend on the “mood” of the animals. Sometimes they are not where they usually hang out and sometimes you bump into them in the least expected areas. Because, you already know: “That´s hunting!”
Lance and his wife hunted in Spain with us during 7 days and during this week we have lived many different experiences and learned a lot about the Spanish tradition, culture and cuisine.Read more
We are often asked about the CIC and SCI scoring systems for the Spanish ibex and more than once we realize that there is not enough info provided on them, and more importantly, this information is not in the same place.
Every time a hunter or huntress plans a hunting trip to Spain for the Spanish Ibex, at one particular moment they will be asked if they want to hunt a representative animal or they want to harvest a medal class Spanish Ibex. And according to the scoring of the animal, this person will have to pay the extra points of their animals.
This article will explain the scoring systems and measurements for the 4 different species of the Spanish ibex.
